Michael Scrivana is a designer and maker who builds with AI. His foundation is fine art — four years of drawing, painting, and sculpture at the Art Students League of New York, classically trained at the easel — followed by a design degree from William Paterson University. That hands-on craft shapes everything: how he sees, how he composes, and how he takes on every new material that lands on his bench.
For the last seven years he's been a brand designer in healthcare — brand identity, packaging, ecommerce, 3D, motion, and campaign, carried from a blank brief all the way to launch. Lately the making has turned to building the tools themselves: he wires pipelines and codes prototypes, exploring what design becomes when you make things with AI rather than around it. He works end-to-end, from the first sketch of a problem to a working thing.
His path here was anything but straight. He cooked for years as a chef in a Michelin-starred New York kitchen, studied anatomy alongside medical students — dissecting cadavers to understand the figure beneath the skin — and worked the technical side building healthcare diagnostic equipment. The common thread is a love of learning and a pull toward hard problems — wherever they happen to live.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me
